Moving to a new home can be an exciting time, but studies have shown that moving is actually one of the most stressful events of your life. You suddenly wish that you had a magic wand that would get all the work done for you. There is no need to worry: while we can’t provide you with a magic wand, we can provide you with helpful tips to keep the job as stress free as possible.

  • Start early – Moving companies say that the average home takes 8 weeks to organize before the move. Don’t leave the organizing to the last minute and get stuck with unsorted belongings everywhere come moving day.
  • Strategic planning – It is  not realistic to think that everything in your old house is going to make it to your new house. Expenses are really going to add up and chances are, you don’t need a lot of the stuff anyway. Sell, donate, or give away any items in your house that you no longer want or need.
  • Hire a House cleaning service – The last thing you are going to want to do after all the packing is done, is clean the house. Hire a cleaning service that will come and do a thorough cleaning for you. Looking back, this will be your biggest time and money saver.
  • Organize Before the moving begins, make sure that you have a few permanent markers, clear packing tape, and small colored dot stickers. Use the permanent marker to label every box that you are going to move. The stickers are great for separating different boxes into each room they will belong in. The clear masking tape will ensure that your boxes are secure during the move.

Hopefully these tips will help make your moving process much more bearable. If you are interested in having someone come out to clean you house, please contact us at Rejoice Maids in Woodstock, GA.
