I know a lot of people in my networking group consider November as gratitude month. They acknowledge and thank God, their families and friends for all the blessings, love and support. According to some of my friends practicing gratitude journal every year is challenging but very rewarding. I do keep a journal but I am not consistent. This year I am trying to complete the month of November without a day skip. I write in my journal five daily gratitude. My friend Raina who practices and writes her daily gratitude says I should keep it simple.
At first it was difficult. But as the days past it became a habit. It is no longer a chore. I actually enjoy writing down and thinking about my day. My gratitude list includes the simple things like having lunch or dinner with my husband, daughters and granddaughter. Being grateful for having wonderful friends. Thanking God for new housecleaning we booked. For all the houses we cleaned for the day and for the safe returned of my employees after the day’s work.
Lots of things to be thankful. Sometimes I find myself repeating the same words daily. It’s okay because I am blessed with the same people in my life, I love having them around. So repeating my gratitude over and over to the same people will always happen. Anyway it is between me and my journal.
November is not only gratitude month. For me it is also the time to reflect. To think about life in general. To be grateful and thankful for all the blessings. I will try my best to complete my November gratitude journal but if things don’t happen
in the future at least when I look back I can say to myself I did my best!
